This year will mark 18 years where the community welcomes the birds back to their winter home at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge for the Annual BirdFest and Bluegrass Celebration.

Hosted by the Friends of the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge, this group of volunteers has been making a difference for the community of Ridgefield to support and protect the refuge, its wildlife habitat and to broaden public awareness.

On October 6th, 7th and 8th there are activities for all ages.

You can get on the water with the Big Canoe or Kayak Tours…click here to sign-up.

Come out on for the Friday Night Hike, where you will get a unique viewing experience to hear and see the magnificent flight of hundreds of sandhill cranes as they visit their night roost.

All weekend you can sign up for the Sandhill Crane Tour or a Hands-on Birding Photography Walk.

Be sure to check out the Audubon Live Bird Show, various art shows around town, Story Time at the Ridgefield Library, family friendly activities, birding and of course live bluegrass music.
