There is nothing like freshly baked bread (you can smell it can’t you) and homemade creamy butter… then imagine a whole event devoted to just that!
On May 27th, scoop up the kids and bring the whole family to the Cedar Creek Grist Mill (43907 NE Grist Mill Road) for “Bread and Butter Day“.
From 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, you’ll get the chance to churn rich fresh cream into butter and enjoy the fruits of your labor when you spread it on freshly made bread.
While you are there you can take home a free sample of flour (of course donations are always appreciated) to make some of these amazing recipes in your own kitchen.
About The Cedar Creek Grist Mill
The mill is a working museum, showing visitors the inside workings of a grist mill and the way it was done in 1876.
You can schedule a tour during the week or come out from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm on weekends to see the huge pulleys and belts spinning as this working mill produces flour, corn meal and even apple cider.
Samples are given to lucky visitors to take home for a first hand experience of the products. No gas or electricity are used, simply mother nature’s water power.
