Washington State Horse Expo Gallops Back to Clark County Event Center

          The 8th Annual Washington State Horse Expo is the top equine event in the Northwest that attracts thousands of horse lovers from all over the western United States. The Horse Expo features national experts, amazing first-class entertainment, premier vendors, a brand-new equine art show, plenty of shopping, and of course kid-friendly activities; it’s the horse enthusiast’s event of the year! The Annual Washington State Horse Expo will be held at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 2–4, 2018.

          See the nationally ranked Clinicians and equine celebrities in action daily at the Horse Expo. You can meet them in the presentation pen, or attend a seminar hosted by one of their speakers.

          Steve Rother: An internationally acclaimed horseman, and local crowd favorite year-after-year, Steve Rother has competed in and won numerous Trainers Challenges, including being the three-time winner of the prestigious Mane Event Colt Starting Competition. Steve’s demos are always inspiring and educational. Known as The Horse Teacher, Steve is dedicated to all horse people who strive to teach their horses by educating themselves.

          Brandi Lyons: Over the last 20 years, Brandi Lyons has become admired and respected by horse owners and enthusiasts from around the country. The conditioned response training methods teach people how to work with their horses using gentle training methods, earning the horse’s respect while creating a safe and willing partner. “I meet each person right where they are on their journey with their horse. We work together to become safe partners with our horses while having fun” says Lyons.

          David Lichman: This 25-year horse veteran is a 5-Star Master Parelli Professional with a specialty in Liberty Horses. David Lichman has performed in shows all across the continent with his three-horse act, which includes bridle-less riding and riding to music. He is the creator of Liberty Outside the Round Pen, a Parelli Mastery Series release. David lives in California with his wife, two children, nine horses, four dogs, four cats and dozens of chickens, pigeons and canaries.

          Jessica Wisdom – “Dressage is for everyone and any horse and rider can benefit from it,” says Jessica Wisdom. Jessica resides in Battle Ground, Washington and teaches at Emerald Valley Stables. She is the recipient of the USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medals, plus the Freestyle Gold Bar, and has had multiple “Horse of the Year’ placings with horses in her program. Jessica coaches riders from training level to FEI with several winning championships in the NW and USDF medals.

          Mustang Maddy: A lifelong equestrienne, Madison Shambaugh’s world was rocked when she encountered her first Mustang in 2013. Captivated by the their heart, mind and innate freedom, “Mustang Maddy” has made it her life’s mission to raise awareness for the plight of America’s wild horses and showcase the mustang as a talented breed that’s perfect for riders of all backgrounds. Madison travels the country to share her training methods and advocate for wild horses. As a clinician, Madison crisscrosses the country to educate horsemen and women about her “5 Golden Rules” that shape her interaction and training with horses of all kinds.

          Jennie Fiendish, CVT, VTS (Behavior) is a nationally recognized speaker on animal behavior and training. Jennie is passionate about education and the promotion of scientifically based training principles and the positive impact that they make on the lives of humans and animals.

          Morgan and Endo’s story continues… Here come Morgan and Endo! Endo lost both of his eyes to moon blindness, but that doesn’t slow him down! With guidance from his owner, Morgan Wagner, they have traveled the country to compete in Working Equitation.

          Spectators will be treated to amazing performances during the 2018 Red, White & Blue Showcase featuring  Clinicians and special guests on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 7:00 pm in the Exhibition Hall. Seating opens at 6:00 pm. Admission requires a separate ticket and must be purchased in order to see the Showcase. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Wilco Farm Stores for $8 or at the door for $10. Seating is limited, so they do recommend purchasing tickets early!

          Be sure to stop by the Kid’s Corral this year! There will be lots of fun, family-oriented events and attractions.
          One of the main attractions will be Pepa, a PATH certified therapy horse. Pepa becomes a “Living Art Project” with the help of children’s hands and a little colorful paint. Dally and Spanky are a dynamic duo who live in Washington State with their owners Francesca and Steve Rother. Dally, a fiery Jack Russell and her best friend Spanky, a miniature horse, have appeared on the Letterman Show, won at the World Dog Awards, and been featured on National Geographic. Don’t miss Dally and Spanky’s performances throughout the run of the Washington State Horse Expo!

          Volcano Ridge Mounted Archers, a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Clark County WA, are the largest mounted archery group in the US with the top of the line Mounted Archery Range. See them at the Horse Expo!

          Don’t miss the Black Pearl Friesian Dance Troupe! The BlackPearl Friesian Dance Troupe consists of many amazing men and women who dedicate their time, horses and other resources to help Clark County and the surrounding community throughout the year.

          The Marketplace at the Expo features dozens and dozens of vendors selling products and services for your equine pleasure, plus farm equipment, educational materials, tack, accessories, clothing, home goods, and so much more.

          Tickets are $11 for Adults, $9 for Seniors and Youth ages 7-12, and kids under 7 are free. Parking is $6. Tickets can also be purchased in advance at participating Wilco Stores. 3 Day Event Passes Available in advance only: Adults-$27, Youth-$23. RV parking is available and must be reserved in advance.
